"Honoring America's Veterans"
Veteran and fraternal organizations of Leavenworth jointly sponsor the oldest Veterans Day observance in the nation, established 1919, and largest west of the Mississippi, Tuesday, 11 Nov, 2025, downtown historic Leavenworth. This is always an outstanding event and an excellent opportunity to honor and pay tribute to all veterans of the US Armed Forces, both past and present. Leavenworth is designated as a Veterans Day regional site. We invite you, your organization, school or band to participate in this notable event.
FLOAT JUDGING: Judging will be done on parade theme, originality, creativity, and patriotism.
Cash prizes will be awarded for best float: 1st prize - $100, 2nd prize - $75, & 3rd prize - $50.
This year’s 2025 parade theme is "Honoring America's Veterans"
TO FIND YOUR STAGING AREA YOU MUST FIRST GO TO INFO BOOTH: west parking lot of Leavenworth Public Library, 417 Spruce Street. Info booth will open at 7:00am, morning of parade.
The parade will commence at 10:30am, intersection of 4th & Cherokee Sts going east. The parade will stop and bands are to cease playing at 10:59am, for the sounding of taps. Downtown streets and streets of staging areas will be blocked beginning at 9am, morning of parade.
CANDY: It has become a safety issue and candy will no longer be allowed to be distributed in parade.
Parade will disband on 5th street, south of Choctaw Street and children can be picked up at this location and NOT at Haymarket Square. Parade route is in compliance with city & state guidelines.
**Horse staging - horses & trailers in south parking lot of Justice Center, 601 S. 3rd Street.
**Buses ONLY Parking will be at Haymarket Square, 7th & Cherokee Streets, unless otherwise instructed.
Parade application MUST be submitted by October 31, 2025, and WILL NOT be accepted after 31 Oct. Applications MUST be submitted via this website page.
